So we have some thin clients. We have a default local printer installed for the administrator that 'comes over' on the default 'User' profile (which is great, that is what needs to happen) When we try to install a network printer:. We disable the write filter.

We disable user security. We install the network printer under the User profile. We are prompted for domain admin credentials. We enter the credentials and successfully install/test the printer.

We reboot and let the User login (automatic). The printer is there, but it says 'access denied, unable to connect' Key notes:. These thin clients MUST have the printers installed locally. These thin clients are not on the domain, they are set to the default WORKGROUP. OS = MS Windows Embeded Standard 2009 This seems like it should be easy to get working, but I cannot seem to find a solution and I have been working on this for over a week now. Thanks in advance.

In our company we have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Terminal server running. Also in our company we have HP Thin clients t5565 were a Dymo printer is connected through USB.

I tell the HP that the printer needs to be connected when connecting to the RDP server. In devices and printers I don't the see printer, but when I click 'Add printer' and add a local printer and map the printer on port TS034 everything works. But when the thin client logs off and on again the printer isn't working anymore. We are running this for a month and I don't do anything else anymore than going to the HP thin client and connect the dymo on a local port on the server. I'm getting tired of it.

Can someone help? Hi, I once runned into the case that can be redirected through the thin client. I don't know exactly whether the hp thin client's customized system support to redirect the Printer through remote desktop protocol. You'd better ask for the supplier for more info.

Hi, Thank you for posting here. Are you getting any events logged in regards to the printer redirection when you login with the faulty machines? Please note that the minimum client requirements to get easy print working are both RDC Client 6.1 and.net 3.0 sp1. Make sure server is Windows 2008 (also with.NET Framework 3.5) and that when connectiong the RDP client on 'local resources' has printers checked. Try installing on both.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Are there any other devices such as Microsoft XPS Document Writer redirected from the client?
